Fit Naturopathic providers use herbal and botanical medicine to help facilitate improved awareness of natural remedies and their place in optimizing and maintaining health. Safe, and effective use of herbs recommended by a physician trained in herbal medicine is recommended to prevent interactions and use the most appropriate herb that fits your health.
Medication & Dietary Supplements
The unique prescribing ability of a Naturopathic Physician allows your care to be safely and appropriately integrated with your current primary care physician, or transitioned to a Naturopathic physician if deemed appropriate. Trained in both pharmacology and researched dietary supplements, a physician at Fit Wellness Centers treat’s the whole person, when making recommendations.
Labs & Diagnostic Evaluation
Fit Naturopathic physicians follow the same traditional approach to evaluating and diagnosing disease, while focusing on treating the whole person. Fit Naturopathic physicians can additionally write referrals to specialists and work with your insurance company to provide the best care.
Doctor as Teacher
Fit Naturopathic physicians educate their patients and encourage self-responsibility for health. They also recognize and employ the therapeutic potential of the doctor-patient relationship. This is important to help sustain your health, save money, and keep you well longer.
Fit Naturopathic physicians treat each patient by taking into account individual physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social, and other factors. At Fit Naturopathic we provide multiple treatment options including, counseling, nutrition, exercise guidance, spinal manipulations, cranio sacral, visceral manipulation, hydrotherapy, and nutrient and vitamin injections.
Genetic & Environmental Health
Naturopathic physicians emphasize the prevention of disease by assessing risk factors, heredity and susceptibility to disease, and by making appropriate interventions in partnership with their patients to prevent illness. Learn more about how you interact with your health through genetic testing and environmental health and detox treatments.
A Fit Naturopathic physician will take time with you. During your first appointment, your doctor will take your health history, find out about your diet, stress levels, use of tobacco and alcohol, and discuss why you’re there. He or she may perform an examination and order diagnostic tests. Naturopathic physicians keep themselves up-to-date on the latest scientific research and incorporate this evidence into their treatments.
A first visit with a patient is typically one hour depending on complexity and education provided in office. Follow-up visits range from 30 to 60 minutes, although this varies depending on the topic discussed and procedures performed in office. At Fit Naturopathic we build a plan together that incorporates both traditional medicine and researched natural medicine therapies. A Fit ND may also use diagnostic tests to fully understand their patient’s health status. Besides taking the time to carefully and fully assess a patient’s root problem, NDs speak and understand the language of conventional medicine. They can diagnose the way MDs do—yet, they bring to the patient a whole new arsenal of treatments and insights. Instead of waiting for a disease to emerge, NDs work to prevent disease naturally.
NDs treat all medical conditions and can provide both individual and family health care. Among the most common ailments they treat are allergies, chronic pain, digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, obesity, respiratory conditions, heart disease, fertility problems, menopause, adrenal fatigue, cancer, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. NDs can perform minor surgeries, such as removing cysts or stitching up superficial wounds. However, they do not practice major surgery. At Fit Naturopathic, the NDs additionally specialize in musculoskeletal disorders that are treated through spinal manipulation, stretching techniques similar to a chiropractor, or more gentle approaches including hydrotherapy, cranio sacral, and visceral manipulation.
